Collectors of old English pipes cherish pre-transition Barlings, but even the later made models have a lot to love. This is a post-transition piece, but it retains much of what made Barling so great. This is a great medium sized pipe with excellent capacity to weight ratio. The blast is quite distinctive, revealing loads of undulating grain. The saddle stem still retains Barling's trademark flat profile. The pipe is in good condition with some minor rim darkening. There are some toothmarks on the bit that could not be removed during restoration, but the stem has plenty of life left.
