This Stanwell Royal Guard straight and tapered billiard estate pipe is from their more modern production in Italy, though it still has all the subtle shaping nuance of its Danish Design heritage on display. The densely packed cross-grain provides plenty of tightly knit birdseye along both sides of the bowl and the slightly domes rim of this thick walled smoker does have some modest darkening along the back. Easy to keep in hand and right on the cusp of too heavy to keep clenched for long periods, this versatile and acrylic stemmed smoker will never suffer from oxidation and is drilled cylindrically with a draft all the way at the bottom providing a consistent and open draw from start to finish.
