Dunhill Shell Briar 33 (1960s Make) Sandblast Billiard Sitter with Gold Spigot Estate Pipe
Item # EE216329$595.00
Details
Avid collectors and passionate enthusiasts may already know, but Dunhill didn't just make great classically shaped pipes. Their return and repair services back in the day were nothing less than extraordinary. If a Dunhill owner broke their pipe, it could be returned and repaired as was the case here. This Shell Briar 33 billiard was broken and a gold spigot repair requested so Dunhill spliced on an extra bit of briar at the end of the shank and fitted it with a gold military mount for the spectacular and elegant estate pipe seen here. Technically this is not a repair, but a refitting by Dunhill and this group 2 sized smoker is better for it. The stampings have been worn over time but this distinct and detailed sandblast smoker is still in outstanding shape, though the original stampings are quite worn. The chamber is in excellent condition and the lightweight assembly makes for an easy and comfortable clencher worthy of generations to enjoy.
