Details
Made during the prodigious Lane Era (mid 1950s to mid 1980s), this Charatan 148 X pot estate pipe doesn't have double comfort stem as were the overwhelming majority of pipes made during that time. Instead fitted with a traditional saddle and stamped with the X, this somewhat rare find features a deeply sandblasted and blistered finish and a particularly wide and thick walled chamber. The stampings are still quite legible if a touch worn and the stem's logo is still present, though not as crisp. Still in outstanding condition there is also some noticeable darkening across the rim but this well drilled pot draws open and smooth.
