GBD New Era Colossus (Pre-Cadogan) Foursquare Sitter Estate Pipe
Item # EE255924$135.00
Details
While there is no way to accurately date a GBD based on its general stampings or series, this GBD New Era foursquare estate pipe does seem to have features in its design and construction that place its origins to the late 1950s. The large bowl hosts a wide and deep chamber drilled as a cylinder and the smooth finish displays a consistent and dense peppering of birdseye along the front and back of the bowl, as well as the top and bottom of the shank. At almost seven inches in length, this is every bit the Colossus it claims to be and the square saddle stem is original, including the brass rhondelle. The buttons shoulders have been aggressively buffed over the decades and there isn't much left to hang behind the teeth, though this hefty smoker was never meant to be clenched. Otherwise, this English handful of competent tobacco consumption is in outstanding condition with legible stampings still easy to read. Plus, it draws like a dream.
