Details
We know. It is unusual to come across a Dunhill estate pipe that doesn't have a date code in the stampings. The nomenclature on this 120 bent billiard is crisp and easily legible but was done without any reference to the year it left the factory in England. Based on the font, three digit shape code, and the changes that came in the latter part of the decade, we are confident this beautifully sandblasted Shell is from around the earlier part of the 1970s. In excellent condition, this English icon of smoking enjoyment is both sophisticated and ruggedly handsome with a distinct and detailed finish as well as a deep chamber and an open, smooth draw. Group 4 in size, though we've seen few with similar size designations as large as this beauty, we recommend a native English blend, though anything in a broad cut or friendly to the tongue will do nicely.
