Like a fish on a hook or a strange, alien creature from space, there is no telling what the exact inspiration was that struck Andrey when he created this singular and unique handmade estate pipe from Russia. The front half of the stummel has been attached to the back half from a separate section of briar and both finished smooth to highlight the dense and contrasting grain. Undulating and dramatic shaping of deep peaks and valleys on both top and bottom provide a sense of energy and movement, almost as if the whole pipe is constantly wiggling. Stemmed with a fancy flared saddle boasting a green ebonite insert for a touch of complimentary color, this handmade is well drilled with a nice sized and cylindrical chamber, is in excellent shape with an outstanding draw, and is surprising light in the hand given the amount of briar present.
