Combining design elements of different regions and styles, Yosef Zehnder has created one of his rare high grades with this dramatic shape and gorgeously grained contrast smooth finish. The wide rim sweeps back providing an elongated canvas displaying the resulting dense birdseye while the bowl and sides of the tapered and bent shank provide the radial straight grain of exceptional briar. Although not a new technique, we do appreciate the polka dot insert on the side of the bowl, used to cover a small flaw in the surface - like a beauty mark and celebrating the organic material of the stummel. Most importantly, this beautiful blonde bombshell of briar has been drilled with the excessive care that Yosef puts into all of his pipes resulting in a phenomenally drilled chamber and draft with an equally impressive draw.
