Rumor has it that the very first walrus shape was made by Sven Knudsen back in his days as the Shop Manager at the famous store in Copenhagen. This completely UNSMOKED and far more stylish modern version of the original tall egg is most likely best attributed to his brother and Danish master carver, Teddy. Both organic and practical, this smooth finished and bent Danish handmade will sit both on the front of the bowl or on the bottom of the shank but either way, the button will stay off the ground. Nicely balanced and featuring a deep chamber behind thick walls with a subtle taper to the draft hole on the bottom, this icon of Danish ingenuity is a fairly rare shape from the Danish maker's catalog, much more so in pristine and UNSMOKED condition.
