In addition to their own line of Four Dot Rough Root pipes made in London, Sasieni also outsourced sandblast finished smokers from Saint Claude, France like this Rough Root bent billiard estate pipe. Made between 1960 and 1979, these French-made briars were given a stamp logo of the "R," for Rough Root and filled with gold foil. Typically the gold foil quickly wears away, but this saddled billiard remains intact and in excellent shape with just a whisper of rim darkening. The sweet-spot sized chamber is just wide enough to handle a complex blend, though this remarkably smooth drawing bent billiard will also do well with a Virginia or Virginia based blend.
