Like many of the shapes in Stanwell's catalog, the 43 has an interesting history and comes from the Danish master carver, Sixten Ivarsson. There are variations throughout years, most being a more rhodesian like bowl, but this Danish Star estate pipe is nothing but curves and has a stronger sense of visual heft in the well proportioned bowl. Finished smooth with a fair amount of birdseye dressing the stummel, this flared and crown saddled smoker has a thick wall but the weight is offset with plenty of bend for a comfortable clench, all while keeping the rim in plain view when lighting. In excellent condition and this Danish bent will even pass a cleaner.
