Details
Tight rings have been distinctly revealed in all their glorious detail on the sandblast finish of the Italian-made Nonpareil billiard estate pipe from Savinelli. The entire stummel looks as if the briar was wedged in a vice and squashed resulting in a seam on both the top and bottom, like a well made opera pipe that can fit easily into a pocket and not ruin the lines of a tailored suit. Tighter rings denote a slower growth rate when the burl was alive and these results are spectacular. Fitted with a real horn ferrule before the Italian maker switched to acrylic and a comfortable to clench ebonite fancy flare saddle stem, this quarter bent smoker does have some rim darkening but is otherwise in outstanding condition with a smooth and open draw.
