Andrei Kadnikov is a Russian pipemaker from Moscow and his work is, like many of his Eastern Europe and Russian contemporaries, a celebration of the post Danish style that has taken the artisan pipe world by storm in the last quarter century. This curved and teardrop Ivarssonesque shanked beauty has been finished smooth to showcase a consistent and dense straight grain design, with plenty of birdseye packed along the bottom of the stummel. Polished plateau graces both the smooth beveled rim and the shank's face, striking a poise of both organic and style dispositions working together in harmony. There is some inner rim darkening but this Russian handmade is still in excellent condition.
