Joe Hinkle Pipe 26 E 4 Bent Sandblast Scoop with Resin Stem

Slung low with a slight over bent profile, this bent and sandblasted scoop from Indiana pipemaker, Joe Hinkle, is a particularly crispy example of a tight sandblast finish.  The cooperating briar reveals both straight grain and growth rings expertly oriented to the wide bowl's shape and gives the impression to the eye that it's even plumper than it actually is.  The chamber behind the thick and rounded walls is conical and although it is wide at the top, it quickly narrows to the draft hole at the very bottom.  Suitable for reclining while smoking, this American handmade and hammock companion is stemmed with a mouthpiece made of resin, stronger and softer than ebonite, in a dusky red hue that picks up the red tones in the stummel.
