Details
Sandblasted with just a touch of contrast in the finish, this 1983 make Dunhill Shell billiard estate pipe carries a thick shank of double knuckled bamboo and a short saddle stem presented with a group 4 sized bowl. Note the brass pins used to secure the bamboo in a method specific to the English maker where a single tang is drilled through both the bamboo and the briar, then bored out carefully to keep it secure no matter how hot the pipe gets. The bamboo has colored nicely with use and aside from some rim darkening, this smooth drawing smoker is in excellent condition and will continue to darken along the shank with regular use.
