A kind of hybrid of shaping elements, this Blatter estate pipe from Canada has a long round shank and tapered stem of a liverpool, a dublin shaped bowl, and a good bit of forward leaning cant seen in a cutty or yachtsman. Whatever your preference for naming the proportions, there is no doubt that this smooth smoker has a nicely sized chamber and an open draw connected to the draft hole at the very bottom of the bowl. The smooth finish shows off some densely packed birdseye on both sides of the cross-grained and tall bowl, but there are some handling marks, minor rim darkening, and even a few fills as well. Light enough to clench comfortably and big enough to get a good sized ember, we recommend a favorite Balkan or burley based blend.
