Yorgos Mitakidis Pipe 4424 Sandblast Billiard with Brindle

The Greeks artisans have really revived the classic English canon in recent years, and while perhaps lesser known, Yorgos Mitakidis is one of the best. Melding extremely clean and classic English proportions with modern artisan techniques, this very craggily sandblasted billiard is a great example. The sandblast is incredible. Detailed, deep, and crisp yet without distorting the shape, it feels wonderful in the hand, and is simultaneously light and lithe, superb for a clencher. The black bowl is contrasted perfectly with the brindle stem. On first look, one might mistake this pipe for one produced in the early 20th century out of a London factory, but this is not some historical relic, but a modern homage to the best of many of us love about the classics.
