Details

Made between 1976 and 1979 before they moved operations to Florida, this Briar Workshop bent egg estate pipe was from early in the workshop's handmade offerings based on the rising popularity of Danish shaping.  We don't know who exactly made the pipe, but the possibilities do include a prestigious list of American carvers including the founders, Elliott Nachwalter and Jorg Jemelka who would eventually stamp their pipes with their own signatures.  This bent and densely grained smooth egg has a massively wide chamber for building large embers and plenty of room to slowly simmer away for long sessions.  There are some minor handling marks and the rim has been darkened with use, but this comfortable clencher is still in outstanding condition.
