North Wind Freehand Sitter with Plateau and Oval Shank Estate Pipe

We admit that when we first laid eyes on this pipe there were several jokes about why a briar needs a trigger guard, but having had a chance to handle this oval shanked and lengthy North Wind freehand estate pipe, there is no doubt that wrapping a forefinger over the shank is made even more comfortable with this unique design.  The plateau rimmed bowl is wide at the top and quickly cones to the draft hole all the way at the very bottom.  There was some slight charring found during restoration so a sodium silicate coating has been added to avoid any issues in its smoking future.  Additionally, there is some significant darkening along the rim but otherwise this singular briar is in outstanding condition with just some minor handling marks.
