Marek Cikl Pipe Reverse Calabash Bent Sandblast Tomato with Calabash Gourd

A large cavity inside the gourd shank provides a reservoir for smoke as it passes from the thick walled bowl to the button of the ebonite stem of this Reverse Calabash from Marek Cikl of McIKL Pipes in the Czech Republic.  The stummel isn't deeply sandblasted but still displays a distinct pattern of straight grain and growth rings with the stout appearance keeps a proportional balance, somewhat rare in this pipe's style of engineering.  The chamber is wide at the top but does cone to a draft hole at the very bottom and while aromatics and burley based blends will do particularly well here, any blend worthy of dry, sweet smoke is a good choice for this handmade guaranteed to never gurgle no matter what blend goes in the bowl.
