L.J. Peretti Large Bent Freehand Sitter with Plateaux Estate Pipe

Sturdy as a sitter and finished smooth to display an impressive orientation of straight grain that flows up and down the broad rimmed and plateau capped bowl, this L.J. Peretti freehand estate pipe is a massive smoker.  The chasm like chamber is conical but so deep it hardly makes a difference.  We did find some charring so a bowl coat of sodium silicate has been applied to avoid any issues in the future.  Aside from a few minor handling marks and a touch of inner rim darkening, this large and American-made smoker is in outstanding condition and is only recommended for those blends where an equally large ember is appreciated and won't burn the tongue.  Note that this pipe does pass a cleaner.
