Joseph Skoda Pipe Bent Freehand with Plateau, Masur Birch, and Ivorite
Item # SK256504$550.00
Details
The tall bowl of this American freehand from New York pipemaker, Joseph Skoda, is capped at the front and back with plateau and a double seam on each side that makes it easy to imagine the bowl outgrew its tree and split apart along each side to reveal the chamber in between. An impressive composition made even more appealing by Joe's use of several materials to insert and trim out the ferrule and stem with a highlighting emphasis on the natural masur birch. The deep and conical chamber is wide enough to handle a broad leaf or simply a favorite English or Balkan blend, though with how well Joe's pipes are drilled, anything will do well in this beautiful, pale blonde.
