Ask any carver about the purpose behind the blowfish shape and they'll tell you - it's all about the grain.  This brilliant specimen from Jesek Pipes captures an incredibly dense and tightly packed end-grain pattern, commonly referred to as birdseye.  Further blesses with immaculate lines of shape and form, this paneled beauty has no speck of smooth finish not decorated by flawless beauty.  Capped at the shank with a ferrule of boxwood, Martin even managed to spice up the composition with a tight band of striped acrylic for a subtle touch only appreciated when close enough to see the impressive grain.  And as with any great handmade, this inspired pipe isn't just about looking good, but serving as a perfectly drilled vessel of smoking revelry.
