GBD 124 (1952 Make) Billiard with Silver Estate Pipe with Replacement Stem
Item # EE231948$115.00
Details
This older GBD straight billiard estate pipe does have a replacement stem, though it seems to have been added to the pipe quite some time ago. The original tenon was likely not a step tenon as the one seen here, but many would argue the difference to be an upgrade. Also of not is the silver band which was done at the factory in London, visible in the pictures, it looks to have been inserted over the shank backwards which is somewhat unusual but not unheard of. There are plenty of handling marks on this older briar having already lived an entire lifetime providing smoking satisfaction which has led to some darkening along the rim. The chamber however is in exceptional condition and this wide silver choked billiard will likely be around for another lifetime to impress several more generations of enthusiasts.
