G.Dupuis Le Rêve du Soldat Bent Dublin with Gold-Filled Band Estate Pipe

Made in France and likely significantly older, this G. Dupuis estate pipe carries the nome de plume, "Le Rêve du Soldat," which translates to the soldier's dream.  The gold-filled band trims the shank and the ebonite stem is likely a replacement done during the early part of the twentieth century.  There are some fills in the surface but this well drilled French smoker has an excellent draw and has survived in excellent condition.  The brand was famously popular in the nineteenth century for an artisan workshop that produced fine and intricate figural pieces, however this more traditional smoker's shape is likely what earned its stamping.
