Frankau's Special 304 Bent Billiard Estate Pipe

Likely made as an homage to the older A. Frankau & Co. who originally owned the BBB brand back when it was Blumfeld's Best Briars long before being acquired by Oppenheimer in the 1920s, this Frankau's Special bent billiard estate pipe is as classic English as a bent billiard can get.  The smooth finish showcases a very dense cross-grain with birdseye framed along both sides of the bowl and the taper runs from the bowl all the way through the bent shank and curved stem to the button. There are a few fills in the finish and some handling marks from time and use.  There is also some darkening around the rim and when restoring the chamber a good bit of char was removed so a sodium silicate coating has been added to ensure several more lifetimes of smoking from this well built and wonderfully smooth drawing British briar.
