Details

Aside from the boxwood adornment on the shank face, this early handmade estate pipe from then phenom, now world renowned pipemaker, David Huber is all luscious and concerted curves.  The classic cumberland stem of red brindle picks up the red tones of the sandblasted stummel and the cookie jar saddle balances the cobra shaped bowl and wide-flared teardrop shank.  It is easy to see why David's work became so popular among collectors and this early smoker has been loved as evidenced by the rim darkening toward the back of this large chambered bowl.  Still in outstanding condition, this hefty handful of smoking vessel isn't just impressive in its shaping and beautifully blasted finish.  This American handmade draws like a dream and even boasts a particularly thin and comfortable bite behind the button.
