Details
Pointing out the exceptional grain and high contrast finish of this smooth and handmade dublin with rim fin from David Huber doesn't do justice to the artistry that is involved and apparent in its shaping. David has mastered the use of hidden creases in the pipe's design to an exceptional level that treats the studious eye to treasures beyond just the obvious. For example, along the broad rim that drifts off the back of the bowl like a living flame, there is a subtle and curved distinct panel delineation that further enhances the shape and can only really be appreciated by running a finger over the crease. Even the negative space of this finely sculpted smoker is proportional and expertly executed for a generationally grained and American handmade worthy of celebration for many generations. The stem is military mounted with a small saddle that reflects back the curves of the rim while seated in a mortise reinforced with brass. The grain is impressive and it may take a while to view to move beyond to the masterpiece that is this finely sculpted briar.
