Charatan Special Extra Large Pear Estate Pipe

Massively chambered with a sturdy, thick wall and a slight taper running down the round shank, this Charatan Special and "Extra Large" stamped estate pipe is indeed a full palm's worth of smoking briar.  Plenty of dense straight grain surround the large bowl and the radial pattern continues along the shank until the fitted double comfort saddle stem.  Lightweight for such a large pipe though still too long and hefty for a clench of any significant time, this English handmade does have some inner rim darkening and several handling marks on the surface.  The capacious chamber is drilled conically with a well placed draft at the very bottom for a fine smoker that seeks to burn every last bit of packed tobacco.
