Butz-Choquin Marigny Extra Bent Sombrero with Brass Estate Pipe

Made by hand in Saint Claude, France, birthplace of the briar pipe, this Butz-Choquin Marigny Extra estate pipe is large, finished smooth, and trimmed out with brass.  The wide rim of the sombrero bowl makes for any easy fit in hand and the addition of a single seam running down the front of the bowl adds an extra dimension to this large pipe.  Tapered through the stummel and stem, this French briar is too heavy to clench for any significant amount of time but the marvelously deep and wide chamber is very capable of allowing a slow simmer of broad cut leaf to continue for hours at a time.  In excellent condition with a smooth and open draw, this palm friendly smoker does have some darkening at the steep, inner bevel into the bowl.
