Bonsai Pipes By Tobias Höse Smooth Contrast Bullcap with Stabilized Burl

As rhodesians go, this smooth finished and high-contrast handmade from Bonsai Pipes' Tobias Höse is a stout shape with mightily thick walls and a breathtaking display of grain oriented to the shape in amber and wheat honeyed tones.  The end of the shank is adorned with a large band of ebonite and a cap of stabilized burl, created from a process of heat and pressure that infuses the wood with the colorful acrylic for a bold statement of color and design.  The low bead travels around the top of the bowl while the high bead encircles the rim for a classic look on a very modern variation.  Even the chamber looks small in comparison, though wide enough to enjoy a broad leaf or even a folded flake, drilled with a conical bottom and draft hole right where it should be, this German bullcap will be just as lovely to smoke as it is to see in direct light.
