Ashton Brindle (1999 Make) XXX Sandblast Paneled Canadian Estate Pipe

Stemmed with an acrylic mouthpiece, this Bill Taylor-made Ashton estate pipe features both a paneled bowl and shank in its neo-classical canadian shape.  The sandblast finish is impressive with an array of revealed growth rings radiating out from the back of the bowl and the wide shank makes for a sturdy sitter.  There is some significant darkening around the rim and the chamber itself has been slightly over reamed.  During our restoration the chamber wall was discovered to contain some spots of charring so a sodium silicate coating has been added to ensure no future burning issues.  Smooth in the draw and very wide in the slightly tapered chamber, this English handmade is an excellent choice for tasting its native English blends.
