Deeply sandblasted to reveal both straight grain and growth rings prominent in the briar of this Charatan large billiard estate pipe. The carved portion along the heel, warranting the Free Hand Relief designation, is like an accordion unfolding to make the bowl turn upwards into a large billiard shape. The stem is original and has a well worn logo on the top as opposed to the side and though the chamber is rather wide and deep, its conical design doesn't even come close to the outer wall of the thick walled bowl for a comfortable grip no matter how fast it can be smoked. In outstanding condition and drilled all the way to the very bottom of the chamber's floor, this English smoker is too hefty for a clenching companion, but with the right chair...
