We don't know much about Jens Erik and haven't seen much of his work. Evidently he was once a hobbyist who started his own wine and pipe shop and has worked with other professionals from Denmark, where this smooth was originally sold. It is handmade and has almost no cant to the bowl and the thick walled dublin bowl is covered in cross-grained birdseye with no muddling as is often seen in amateur work. The chamber is just wide enough to take a Balkan or English blend, but the smooth draw will certainly cooperate with a Virginia or burley as well. There is some modest darkening across the rim and some wear at the inner rim, though this very lightweight clencher is still in outstanding condition.
