T. Cristiano Pipe Metamorfosi A509 (9mm Filter) 1/4 Bent Dublin with Silver (TCP161419)
Thomas Cristiano was an American Pipe Maker who moved from his native Italy when he was 16 in 1968. For several decades he made hand made artisanal pipes under his own name and also had pipes made from the mid century production techniques, back in the Old Country under the Calabresi brand. Like many machine made marquees, there were several lines of various adornments and finish combinations. Much of Cristiano's work is in Freehand pieces though his factory designs were very clean and stylish, showcasing the classic in the Italian School of smart looking shapes.
This Dublin is a charming shape, firmly seated in the Italian school of design. Combining squat proportions and elements of the Danish scoop, the resulting composition is sleek and low slung. This pipe is perfect for flakes, but suited to any cut.The 9mm filter means that there are no circumstances when this rocket won't launch exactly as predicted. Plenty of draw as a kind of reverse calabash without, as I prefer, but easy to load any standard 9mm filter for those who like them. An extremely well crafted series, it can smoke well no matter where you are or what you're doing, as long as it stored in a dry spot.
