Details

Likely made between 1930 and 1950 (our best guess is the late 40s), this older Guildhall London Pipe estate pipe, from Comoy's, is certainly a lesser known shape for the latter years of the famous production.  In great shape, though there is a miniscule crack, very difficult to see, on the very base of the large tenon.  We believe it to be stable and you're not likely to glimpse it without using significant magnification, but it is there.  Otherwise, this older briar does have a fitted metal stinger, and while our advise is to remove it and throw it away, it is original to the pipe.  And before anybody asks, Yes...it will pass a pipe cleaner with a little patience, a bent cleaner to start, and some twisting.  On our scale of difficulty (1 being a wide open draft on a three inch straight nosewarmer and 10 being a triple kinked double drafted tyrolean monstrosity of unknown origin) this comes in at a 7.5, not easy but certainly possible.  Truly a superb specimen of grain and for the whole production series at large, this oom paul tapered smoker is easy to clench and has a cylindrical chamber deep enough to enjoy throughout the long winter evenings.
