A rare specimen, especially for a contest pipe, this Stanwell RM estate pipe from the 1991 Roskilde Pipe Smoking Championship has a wide band of brass etched with the contest and date. Saddled and fitted with both a delrin sleeved mortise and tenon, this smooth and English inspired shaped billiard has a nice, wide chamber perfect for folded flake and broad leaf blends. There is very little contrast in the smooth finish but this Danish-made smoker has a dense cross-grain that can only be seen when just inches away. In excellent condition with just some minor wear at the rim, this contest pipe comes with its original cardboard box, sleeve, and the wooden dowel contest tamper.
