Stanwell's stamping of this NR.22 indicates pipes that were made specifically for Pipe Smoking Contests in and around Denmark. They represent some of the finest finishes done in distinct sandblasts and are typically very dark with some deep reds peeking out. This barrel shaped apple estate pipe, in addition to a beautifully sandblasted finish also includes a silver shank cap and a military mounted stem. The chamber has been over reamed and is a few millimeters wider than original, but otherwise this contest smoker is in outstanding condition with a world-class draw.
