Maybe it's the Sixten Ivarsson design of impressive rounded Danish and flirty lines, or Bordeaux name that invokes a memory of that perfect sip of wine, or even the fact that they just don't make them in Denmark anymore, but seeing how aggressively banged on its side of the bowl this pipe has been, almost broke our hearts. Likely tapped out on something sharp, there are deep handling marks, but they don't stop the functional charm this alluring estate pipe oozes after having been well restored and showing off a polished finish of clean briar with dense grain wearing a brass band with pride. Capable of smoking any blend with relative open ease, this Stanwell has survived but reminds us all, soft touches are best.
