Likely made in the late 1930s when Sasieni was naming their classic shapes after English Towns, this Four Dot Appleby typifies the times with a low and precise profile of clean lines and a superbly comfortable taper. Conical in the chamber, this significantly aged briar has survived with a bit of over reaming in the bowl so we added a coating that will keep it smoking well for another 90 years. The blue in the dots has faded, as have all the pipes from this time period, but the nomenclature is still very ledgible. Densely grained with a cross orientation, the details of which are difficult to see because dark finish.
