Prominent with a very long oval shank, this Sasieni Cheltenham four dot estate pipe is just shy of seven inches, though still light enough to clench. Note the additional stamping of "NATURAL" and an even rarer, "XS" which we believe was a designation for extra special - justifying a premium price point on the sales floor. The grain supports this with a consistent and dense presentation of cross grain and birdseye free of any fills or flaws. Note that while the pipe is in outstanding condition, the patent number underneath the shank is too worn to confirm exactly and the stem has been overbuffed, especially at the shoulders where it meets the shank.
