Despite an excellent orientation to the bowl, the grain pattern on this BBB Minerva estate pipe is, in truth, a little underwhelming. Still, an excellent smoker with an open draw, this duckbill tapered billiard has a wide chamber and a lightweight carriage, making clenching a breeze without any effort or practice. There is some significant rim darkening, but the wood is solid and free of any fills. Highly recommended for trying out new blends, especially aromatics, burleys, and english varieties.
