The lines, seams, and curves of this scaled blowfish from DSH pipes are nothing short of hypnotizing when examined. The lack of symmetry pulls the eye into a kind of pace and rhythm as the high contrast finished wood is taken in one piece of comprehension at a time, resulting in a theme of motion and movement. Of particular note is the sculpted crown of the stem - molten and organic, as if it grew directly out of the briar itself. Just one more sound argument proving David S. Huber is in fact a sculptor who just happens to make great smoking pipes as his medium.
