Pipe carving is a fine art, but not limited to just those with the high end and specialized equipment that bring forth the great smokers from the briar block. All that is necessary is a file, a bit of sandpaper, and a little determination as the bowl, draft, and tenon have all been drilled and assembled on this accessible stummel and stem kit, prepped for shaping. These blocks are the same grade and sourced just as many artisanal pipes and the stem is made of ebonite, flush fit to the block. The hard part is seeing the perfect pipe inside, then just remove all the wood that doesn't belong!
This is a special block from the very outer portion of the briar root known as the plateau - this is where the densest grain comes from!
