Swirling designs of spot carved channels wind their way around the bowl of this French-made Marxman saddle apple estate pipe to accent the slight swell of the bowl. Thick in the shank and far lighter in mass than expected, the saddle works well to keep the weight down and provide a thin bite for a comfortable clenching smoke. There are many minor handling marks, especially around the darkened rim, especially at the front and back where the pipe was clearly tapped out. Quite wide in the chamber and drilled with a smooth and open draw to support such a large capacity, this lengthy briar is highly recommended for flakes and favored broad leaf cuts of complex tobacco.
