Johnson's Handmade Billiard with Gold Filled Repair Band Estate Pipe

This smooth and oval shanked billiard has been cleaned up as best we can, though it has sustained some trauma in its smoking history.  At some point a crack formed from the mortise down the top of the shank until a gold filled band was used to repair and stop the damage.  The draft also seems to have been double drilled and the first one hit the chamber low, though this won't do much to its smoking characteristics.  The rim has been darkened and there are plenty of handling marks across the straight grain, but even with all that, and possibly an unoriginal stem, this lightweight and wide chambered smoker has a lot to offer once it has been lit and the flavors of a favorite tobacco reveal themselves.
