Dirk Heinemann Pipe High Contrast Bent Tomato with Plateaux and Brass

Gloriously grained, finished smooth in high-contrast perfectly oriented and dense grain, this certainly isn't the largest high grade handmade we've ever seen, but it is definitely the biggest we've seen from German architect and pipe maker, Dirk Heinemann.  Keeping the plateau on both the top of the bowl and the tear drop shank's facing, Dirk even managed a separate and smooth bevel into the bowl.  There is brass tubing reinforcing the shank that has been left above the plateau and cut to accentuate the natural bark of the burl, being both functional and a touch of subtle adornment.  A rare specimen on a large canvas, this eye catching smoker is an heirloom piece meant to be enjoyed and celebrated for generations.
